Australian Organic Awareness Month 2024

September 2024 marks Australian Organic Awareness Month (AOAM)- a celebration of all things organic…a campaign to promote the certified organic industry across all consumer categories, with a focus on how organic practices contribute to a healthier lifestyle for individuals and a healthier world for all.

As Australia’s FIRST ever certified organic coffee, bean ground & drunk, along with the Bean Alliance Group, is very proud to once again act as an official sponsor and showcase partner of AOAM.

CLEANER TODAY, HEALTHIER TOMORROW

Australian Organic Limited (AOL) is the peak body for the organic industry in Australia, and during AOAM they seek to educate consumers about what ‘organic’ means and to highlight the benefits of organic farming for the environment and for health. It’s also about helping consumers make informed choices about the products they purchase.

In addition, AOL also promotes the commercial and social interests of those who are certified and protects the integrity of the sector against fraud and misleading organics.

Which is why it’s always so important to…

LOOK FOR THE BUD LOGO.

Not all organic products are created equally…

The Australian Certified Organic Bud trademark logo is the most well-known organic trust mark in Australia and has been for over a decade.

Research has revealed that a large number of Australian shoppers felt they had been misled by organic labelling in the past. This is why legitimate certification is so important, why consumers should always be looking for the official ACO Bud logo when shopping organic and why AOL is pushing to make certification marks mandatory for all genuine organic products.

ORGANICS IS FOR THE LONG TERM

“Just as nourishing your body with natural and organic ingredients today can benefit your health for years to come, our ecosystems thrive when soil health, biodiversity and animal welfare are made a priority”.

This is the position taken by AOL as we acknowledge AOAM this year. The campaign has a different focus topic for each of the 4 weeks.

Week 1.

See the big picture: recognizing the key benefits of organic produce, stressing the importance of certification marks, as well as acknowledging the long-term environmental outcomes organic practices can improve.

Week 2.

Find your why: taking a look at how making the switch to all certified organic produce can benefit the health of individuals.

Week 3.

Tread softly: looking at how organic farms help contribute towards higher biodiversity, a stronger environment and richer ecosystems.

Week 4.

Seek balance: helpful suggestions and guidance as to how you can support certified organic without significantly changing your weekly budget. Making small organic changes in your daily life to help make a significant difference.
